Sound familiar? You may have a condition related to dry eyes. Dry eyes are a symptom of an underlying problem causing insufficient tear production or excessive dissipation of the tears.

Factors causing dry eyes can include hormones, aging, medications, diseases, pollen, dust, dry air and excessive computer use. Dry eyes can lead to permanent changes in the surface of the eye and the position of the eyeslids and the functions of both.

At Dr. C Optometry we mitigate these factors, performing tests to differentiate the type and severity of dry eyes, making individualized recommendations, both holistic and medical. Treatments are no longer limited to artificial tears; other treatments may include ointments, punctual plugs, Bleph-x procedure, Omega-3 supplements and deep massage of the lids.

Test include osmolarity testing, Meibomian gland analysis and identifying the source of the inflammation that comes with dry eyes. This allows making individualized recommendations, both holistic and medical.
