Transitions lenses chart

It is extremely important that we protect our eyes from UV rays, in our opinion, even more than protecting your skin. UV rays can cause melanomas in our eyes but it also causes premature cataracts and retinal damage. Not all sunglasses are the same. Some filter less UV than others, some have distortion in the lenses and some help with glare more than others. Transition lenses are lenses that darken when exposed to sunlight. It is a great option for those who are frequently in and out of buildings. Our staff can help decide which type of Transitions is best for your lifestyle. The Transitions XTRActive available in grey, green and brown is darker and works behind the wheel of the car. Transitions Vantage is also polarized. As an added benefit, it helps filter out some of the blue light rays from LED lights and screens that can be damaging to the eyes. To learn much, much, more, Click Here.

Polarized lenses give the full UV protection and also decreases the glare allowing you to see further and see more vivid colors. It is highly recommended for those that spend time around the water since these lenses eliminate the glare off the water. Many sunglass lines offer polarized options in their lenses. They can also be done in prescription lenses. Maui Jim puts a high quality polarization in all their sunglasses.
